FALL ‘22 ASL 3: Keep the Conversation Going

Taking what students have learned in previous classes, we will continue adding new vocabulary, and we will build conversations to increase fluency in both signing and reading signs.  Students will develop fluency through signing with each other, story-telling, voicing ASL, and interpreting songs, and portions of sermons and lessons. Classes are limited to 8 students so that the Teacher can engage each student and ensure that signs are being done correctly.  Classes are LIVE, not recorded.  Interaction is in real time, not videoed and sent to the teacher.  Classes are FUN and engaging.  Students are able to make friends and give and receive encouragement. Assignments for work outside the classroom will be  given periodically so that the students can further develop their understanding of Deafness, Deaf culture, Deaf education, Interpretation, etc.  This  class will also have guest speakers, such as deaf adults, interpreters, missionaries for the Deaf and Deaf Pastors.
